An Autistic Man’s Love For Cats

Greg Krueger is a guy that really loves cats. For the last 15 years, he has spent all his spare time, when not at work, thinking of ways to improve the things he builds in his house – for his four cats. He has built many steps and passageways and “trails” as he calls them. He has also cut holes in the walls, so the cats can go from room to room without having to go to the ground level to do it. Many of the holes lead to cubbyholes the cats where the cats can hide or just hang out.

Something else about Greg – at the age of 49 he learned that he had Asperger’s syndrome, a mild version of autism. People with Asperger’s can have difficulty with social interactions, which Greg readily admits applies to him. As he puts it, he is the only human that lives in his house, but he does not live alone, he lives with his cats, and together, they are family.
